LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. — What starts as a quiet day of fishing on a local lake turns into an unbelievable local whirlwind in a new independent feature film shot right here in Livingston County. Produced as a fundraiser to directly benefit the Livingston County Dive Rescue Team, the fictional comedy-mystery delivers twists, turns, and a heavy dose of home-grown humor—featuring a cast made up almost entirely of local residents and community members.
The story follows three everyday local fishermen whose routine outing takes a wild turn when their line snags an unexpected discovery from the water: an authentic license plate belonging to infamous former Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa.
When the local sheriff arrives on the scene and runs the plate, the trio’s quiet life is instantly upended. Overnight, the fishermen become local celebrities, sparking a series of chaotic and hilarious paths to fame:
- One fisherman finds himself as the grand marshal of a festive downtown parade.
- Another lands a high-profile book deal chronicling their aquatic discovery.
- The third channels the fame into writing a full-fledged Hollywood screenplay.
Taking audiences on a scenic tour across recognizable landmarks and roads throughout Livingston County, the film builds to a dramatic climax as the trio works to seal a major movie deal—only to discover that negotiating with film executives might be the start of an entirely new set of problems.
